PowerHub Energy Stack
Start with wholesale power. Add the hedge when you’re ready.
1. Membership → Unlock the half-hourly wholesale price, plus our flat two-cent service fee
2. +Battery → Store cheap overnight power and ride out the expensive peaks - with backup when the grid goes down
3. +Solar → Generate at zero marginal cost and fill the battery from your own panels
Already have solar? It works with the battery as it is. If you don’t, ours is a 7.2 kW ground-mounted array - $6,325.00, owned outright by you. Rooftop with another installer is fine too.
How the three work together
The panels feed the battery, and the battery decides when to use what it is holding.
1. Generate → Your 7.2 kW array puts roughly 8,640 kWh a year straight into the battery
2. Store → The Fever-1 holds 15 kWh back, from your own panels or from the cheapest wholesale half-hours
3. Use → Your home draws stored power through the evening peak instead of buying at the spike
4. Fall back → The grid is backup, not dependency, and you sell your surplus back at the wholesale price
*Members pay the half-hourly wholesale market price plus our service fee: 2.3 cents per kWh on consumption, and 10% of the GST-inclusive value of electricity fed back into the grid.

Refundable security, not a charge
Wholesale clearing prudential - refundable. To buy on the wholesale market on your behalf, PowerHub posts security with Wholesale Clearing, and holds the same amount against your account. We pass through exactly what we are invoiced. There is no GST on it, because it is a bond rather than a charge.
How it is sized. Your expected annual consumption, valued at a base wholesale rate of $0.20 per kWh, stressed by 50% for an adverse market, covering two months. That works out at about $0.05 per kWh of your expected annual use - roughly $500 at 10,000 kWh a year, $700 at 14,000 kWh, $1,000 at 20,000 kWh.
It can change. Wholesale Clearing revises what PowerHub must post as market prices and consumption volumes move, and PowerHub may pass the relevant adjustment on to you. It first appears on your first invoice, but it is not a one-off charge.
It is your money. Held as security, and returned in full within 30 days of your Final Bill being paid, less any outstanding balance.

Paying your bill - what the payment costs
These are charged by our payment provider at the moment your payment is processed. They are not PowerHub charges, they are not part of our margin, and we add nothing to them. They appear on your bank or card statement beside the payment, not as a line on your invoice.

Direct debit from a bank account - $0.90 each time a payment is processed

Visa or Mastercard - 1.95% of the payment, minimum $0.90

Failed payment - $9.90, if a payment is declined or returned unpaid
A monthly direct debit therefore costs $0.90 a month, $10.80 over a year. Paying by card costs more as the bill gets larger, so for most members the bank account is the cheaper option. If you know a payment is going to fail, tell us before the debit date and we will work something out - a failed payment fee helps nobody.
Charges on what you use

*Market services are highly regulated and are treated as a pass-through in the schedule above: we pass on exactly what we are invoiced, with no margin added.
*You have ten business days from paying your membership fee to change your mind and receive a full refund of the membership fee. After that it is a one-off charge for the term shown - if you leave early there is no break cost, and no refund. Your electricity supply agreement is separate and open-ended, and you can switch away at any time on 30 days’ notice.

These are our published numbers. What matters is what they do to your bill.
Send us a recent power bill and we will price that same usage against the actual half-hourly market, so you see the difference on your own consumption rather than an average. It is free, it takes a couple of days, and it commits you to nothing.
